Twenty Seven

This is my 27th contest and it's simple and straightforward.

Please write me a poem, 20 to 60 lines, about what your life was like when you were 27, what you were doing and what you remember of your surroundings -- the music, the clothes, the politics.

Not 27 yet? Then write me something about your memories of being 17.

The piece may be rhymed or unrhymed and may take any form that pleases you. I know you will take your usual care with grammar and spelling.

Cast your thoughts back, even if it's just a year or two, and enjoy.
