  • Final notes:

A terrific job by every Poet who came out to support the POM contest....thank you!

Let's get right to it.......your Gold winner for the month of April 2008, is, RyanosaurusWrecks......does this name sound familiar?

It should, as this Poet is bringing their best every week and not holding back his talents....so please say congrats to a Poet who strives to be the best in any given situation!

He earned a total of 199.25 pts out of a possible 200....woo hooo!

He also receives a 3 month Silver Membership, or credit to his existing account, from Kevin, Owner of AllPoetry.....so thank you Kevin for your generosity and support of the PO' contests.....my hats off to you ~

OK....your Silver winner, right behind Ryan, earned a total of 198.2 pts ~

Jamie is another Poet who gives her all and digs deeeep for those original Themes which make her scores soar!

....and she pens them wisely and beautifully as well.....nice job Jamie!

Your Bronze winner earned 197.5 pts....so close behind the top 2 Poets and reaching for the Gold!

I have a feeling this Poet is not going to stop, until they win a PO' contest, and I hope they don't.....Julie and I are thrilled to read such grrrreat poetry from each of these Poets, and from anyone who enters a PO' contest.....so thank you!

    Your HM's ARE in order...>>>

    HM 1...196.6
    HM 2...194.1
    HM 3...193.7

Another brilliant job by all of you to keep the Top 6 scores above 190....so, good for you and God bless each of your talents and quills ~

....and just because you did not win a trophy, does not mean you lost, it just means you have to try harder

The most original Title goes to: Atmospheric Voices

The most Creative Theme goes to: Gentle Flow

The most Heartfelt Entry goes to: sans permission

The most Powerful Entry goes to: sans permission

There you have it Poets....another month of brilliant entries from all of you.....Julie and I are so pleased to welcome you back whenever possible......but the next POW will be for those who have not had a chance to pen in the PO' contests, as we want to see some new faces learn about the PO' contests, and Julie and I want to see each of our regulars here critiquing and helping out like soooo many of you do already....not a requirement, just a thought ~

...and speaking of Julie.....she will be sending me her Final Notes shortly, as she is not up to par, and has not been for the past few months ~

However, she has always been right here for us....saying nothing, bringing no attention to herself ~

Well, it's time we all stopped and took time to thank the best Judge on AP for her time and willingness to do what she does, week, after week, after long week ~

There is not another Judge out there who I would trade for Julie....but....she doesn't know this yet....but I am going to ask her to take as much time off as she needs...

....and I am asking for your help to Judge....from any Poet here who knows this sequence of contests as well as the back of your hand, and knows what we expect out of each entrant ~

You can IM me when you have decided ~

Once again, thanks to Kevin, Owner of AllPoetry for your kindness and generosity....I am sure this winning Poet is grateful for your Award ~

OK...that's about it.....there is a columne up for special prayers, for a very special person....I think you know who I am talking about.....thank you Poets ~

    ....and remember,

May Your Higher Power & the Power of Your Quill,
    Always Be Your Strength ~

7 minutes ago Okay Hon...This is as much as I can take, I'm afraid. Going to go lay down a while. I think God is trying to tell me I need the rest, and I am not one to argue with him.

Thank you so, so much for your patience and prayers...and the column, which is an incredibly sweet thing to do. With so many prayers I can't imagine I'd be down and out too long.

    Love ya!

15 minutes ago P.S. to final notes...

I'm sorry you aren't each receiving your full scoreboard. The numbers kept shifting on me, to the point where I called my roommate in to message scores to Bear just to make sure they were right. If anyone wants theirs, please let me know and I'll be happy to get them to you asap.

    23 minutes ago Final Notes:

Firstly, my sincere apologies to everyone for the hold-up I’ve caused getting scores in, and to islekine, triste elle, and jamiedoring especially, for my very brief comments on their poems. I fell Tues. morning and either tore or pulled nearly every muscle in my left leg, then developed a high fever last night on top of it all. The pain made it nearly impossible to sit at the computer...and when I did, I kept falling asleep from the pain meds. : ( Your patience and prayers have been greatly appreciated as I’ve tried to finish my judging in short bursts of time. I felt, having only a few left to judge, that I should be able to get through them...just really did not understand what a challenge it would turn out to be.

Maybe that’s what we get for challenging all of you with those banned a’s? Lol

But seriously...you guys/gals are all worth it.

Just a note about this POM itself, I thought we had a huge number of outstanding entries. This will go down as another of my favorite PO contests...even if it’s been the most painful. Thanks again to all of you, and congrats to our winners! : )

And to Bear...you are the best, and I have been incredibly blessed to know you...

Wishing you all a beautiful May,
    ~Julie

May God bless all of you in abundance,

    Bear & Julie ~

    Peace.......we love you Julie!!!!!

So you cannot have ANY of THOSE words in your poem?
Man Bear I was thinking about entering again after a loooooooooonnnnnnnggggggg break from not entering due to so many rules about punctuation and now you threw this curve ball at me

    I dunno man...
    I dunno...

Very good contests you are running but
The rules are off the chain for me...
I was just getting over the punctuation thing...lol.

      Becky, Becky, Becky :)

Now you know your quill is more powerful than any Rules I could ever set in stone.....and No, you may not use ANY of those Filler Words listed, any place in your entire write

Read the last weeks POW Winner......He did an entire poem with not one letter *E*....at all ....and it came out fabulous.....so with that said...it CAN be done

      http://allpoetry.com/poem/4143401

I shall be looking for an entry from you,

      ...good luck and God bless,

        Night Julie :)

Have a grrreat Saturday, and see you Sunday.....remember, there are 15 spots to be filled....hopefully ......oh...and hey!.....Are you getting snow?

I see there are a lot of mistakes already, simply because Poets are not reading the Rules.....I hope they see 'em soon, cause I am not going easy this week ~

We got 6 inches of snow overnight, and it is still coming down. I wanna be where you are!!!

As for the contest, me thinks you put out one heck of a challenge...I'm not sure I'd want to attempt it myself. But just looking for those mistakes is going to take me an extra hour alone in judging!

          s for ya anyways

some very good entries on this one!

ty aboomer, I see. I had removed the "a", I believe before you had commented, so after going through the rules one last time, I had everything according to rule. You must have caught the poem just after I made some alterations, excluding fillers. Bad timing I guess. As to the 4 line stanza, I can see where you are coming from, ty for the tip, however I removed, because I really did not know where you were coming from, sorry, my mistake.
    take care and God Bless,
~pithyAplomb. Awsome contest by the way, I'll look in on the next one.

I'm so sorry 'pithyaplomb' if I confused it even more for you! I think, if you have it done now and rules fixed that maybe Arkbear would let you re-enter it.
Again, I'm sorry if I confused you.
