5/7/08 - I'm having computer issues at home.
I've extended the contest, in case I'm not able to get online
for an extended time. I will be back to judge as soon as possible.
This way, perhaps I'll get more entries, too.
I'm quite pleased with those I've received so far.
Thank you for your patience.
New rule, added 4/25/08 10:15 pm CST:
Do not post your entry in any other contest until this one's over, please.
That's just plain rude.
www.allpoetry.com/contest/2401739
I won PhantomsAngel87's PIF contest.
Pay It Forward:
The gold winner will host a contest & send me the link to it
when it's posted to continue the pay it forward cycle.
That's why I'm giving the gold 500 points,
so they'll have something left over for themselves.
This contest is NOT anonymous.
I will know who I'm reading & still remain objective.
Ask entrants in my previous contests.
It is my life.
Rules:
NO prewrites. Don't even ask.
No rhyme unless you're very, very good at it.
If you write in rhyme, please explain the form you've used.
One entry per person. 30 entries only.
NO reservations.
No dark writes.
No cutting, suicide, homicide, anything~cide.
If you know me at all, you already know that.
I read & write too many as it is.
Lift me up, don't bring me down.
Sensual is fine. Pornography is not.
If you don't understand the difference, don't enter.
It would be nice for you to read the other entries,
but it is not a requirement, as that is against site policy.
The contest may be extended,
as my work load has been completely insane lately.
If it is, I'll let you know by posting a note on the contest page.
If you have any questions, please put them in the comment section,
as others may need to know, as well.
You can edit up until the contest closes.
I'll read each piece at least several times.
I'll comment on each one, as time permits.
Now then...
the contest prompt is the picture.
Tell me what I don't already know about it.
Write like you mean it. Write like you feel it.
Be real. Be you. No one else can.
Thanks for coming by.
Good luck, one & all.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on May 17
- Rewards: Gold: 500, Silver: 300, Bronze: 200, Honorable mention: 20 people
- Final notes: Thank you all for entering my contest and for your patience while waiting
for me to have the time online in which to judge it. I sincerely appreciate your time
and your talents.
It's been a rough couple of weeks for me, besides the computer issues
I'd mentioned before; work's wearing me out & a tornado finished off my car.
I've been running myself into the ground lately, so I truly
enjoyed the reprieve from "reality" that you created with your words.
Gold winner, please send me the link to your PIF when it's posted.
Although there's a lot of time and points involved in hosting a contest,
let alone a "pay it forward" competition, I do believe in its merits
and the cycle should continue to move forward.
The HM's are in no apparent order.
You deserve much more than a green chalice to decorate your page.
Thank you all again.
Keep writing, everyone.
This world needs all the Poets it can hold.

It's a great picture ...
but I'm simply no good at writing poems about pictures or songs. It just doesn't work. I don't feel well anyway, so that's another thing.
It's a great pic though. Good luck with the contest. -

Wanda, will you ever forgive me!
I just found out today that I won 'Silver" in your most prestigious contest... your high reputation for evaluations {on Poetry} honors me, humbles me, and to be so honored among such an audience of Poets I admire... leaves me speechless. Sighhh...
Belated congratulations to one and all!
Wanda, you are Wonderful!
