Hi guys and gals!
Welcome.

Free Verse
Prose
Blank Verse

Your challenge if you are up to it. Is to weave yourself into your free verse. At the end of your piece, I will know you. I want: your likes and dislikes; fears; hopes; dreams; loves; your vulnerabilties and strengths.

I didn't say this was going to be easy. Bleed on the page and sway my emotional side. Show me, who you are as a human being. Poetic devices are welcome and encouraged. Alliteration, assonance and consanance and anything else that you can come up with. May your ideas flow from one word to another and one thought to another. Put a mirror to your face and let me see your reflection.

Now, go and have a good time.

Thank you for your participation. I've, somehow managed to lose all my participants except two. I, probably wasn't ready to judge a contest of this caliber. Thank you for your patience with me. After the mistakes I have made, hopefully the next time it will be better. Due to attrition, I'm DQing this contest after this round. Thank you gentlemen for going this far with me.

  • I'm not the best at understanding poetical terms. No proper schooling for such a thing. Is free verse a work that doesn't have to have a rhyme scheme, does it have to rhyme. Could you explain a little for me. I'd be humbled if you would do so.
