I wrote this, this morning:

Morning Prayer

Gently nudging her, the morning sun frees
her from sleep, sets her down on her knees
for a journey that takes but a blink of an eye
past the moon and stars, by galaxies she flies

Walks through the gates, forbidden is the night
where King Jesus alone is Heaven's Light
under her feet translucent gold, then a lake
of crystal but moves on for a greater sake

In quietness and whispers, a battle ensues
against her mind, defends what is true
boldly prays before her Father’s throne
claims in His Son’s name all promises her own

Given weapons not carnal, plated in God's might
and armor put on in faith out of natural sight
a secret place she hides His word in her heart
exposed is sin, forgiven in whole not in part

She lifts her head, full of joy, dispelled of woes
this morning her Master even better she knows
the late hour nudges her for many still not free
rises up as a soldier, one trained on her knees
