Poetry Formed XXVIII

Welcome Poets!

We are using ONLY the Arkquain Swirl this time ~

This Swirl was penned by my lovely Sis, -LilacThOughts-

                                                     ..The Healing Fusion of Light...

/\
Live
my life
in coldness,
no words no song.
-o0o-
Senses starved of hope
one shaft of light I strive for,
small gap in half opened door,
yearning for shadows.
-o0o-
Embracing grief
in sweeping

hunt for
light

unsung
in my heart,
no beat no flame.
-o0o-
I pray for balance,
and caress on fevered eyes.
Save my spirit from demise
in weakest moments
-o0o-
Silence in loss,
my grieving

held in
dark

conveys
fears of life,
in tangled threads.
-o0o-
Then out from the blue
God replies to fretful prayers,
compassionate light he shares.
A new day has dawned
-o0o-
Comforting peace
gives back my
verve once
more
\/

Wrapped in grief, but with God and friendships,

I feel harmony is slowly being restored
-SMILE-

Before you get started, remember, all 7 syllable lines have end rhyme within each Arkquain ~

....however, the most important Challenge of an Arkquain Swirl.....is the Aesthetics and Form ~

I created this Form as Art, and it should be presented as such, or your scores will plummet ~

If you think you have what it takes to pen the perfect Arkquain Swirl, I will raise the points,

....depending on quality entries ~

The prompt is NOT the picture....it is whatever you desire to pen about ~

Please give credits to Form, and any Graphics used in your AN ~

Good luck to you Poets, and may God richly bless your Quill, Ink and Imagination ~

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on May 6
  • Rewards: Gold: 500, Honorable mention: 5 people
  • Final notes:

    Superb job Friends!

As I mentioned in the Rules, Aesthetics are a HUGE part of your score.....as this is Art, and should be presented as such ~

I went with your form and Theme in the end.....and the Gold is a no-brainer....the Silver and Bronze, and first two HM's were tough to place!

I want to thank each of you for taking this contest as serious as you did.....the Arkquain Swirl is most important to me......and I read all of your comments received from your viewers, and I was impressed with all of their thoughts, and how much praise you all received from your entries.......you should all be proud, as this is the hardest Form to perfect in my knowledge of strict syllable count for presentation and aesthetics ~

Tory.....I was so impressed to see your efforts while being in the hospital.....you are the BOMB!

Jamie....you are a natural at whatever you set your mind to.....Son, you are a courageous young man to take on Papa Bears Form......and I believe there is nothing you won't attempt.....good Boy ~

Julie, Slow down, and choose your words carefully, and you are going to be one of the best Formed Poetry Poets around as well ~

Kelli and Wolf.....smallll mistakes will make or break you in this contest.....and your quills need some more practice.....so I will be doing the Lanturne Swirl soon....please join me!

Heartless & tanglio....thank you sooooo much for giving your best.....both of your entries are deserving, so I added HM's for everyone as you see......and it takes a LOT to make the Bear change his mind about adding Trophys, unless, you have earned it.....and both of you did ....so SMILE!

    Bear is outta here,

    ....and remember,

May Your Higher Power & the Power of Your Quill,
    Always Be Your Strength ~

You know I can not resist...
  • This looks wonderful!
It's been forever since I have written in form..Perhaps this is the challenge I need to get megoing in forms again. BEAUTIFUL form, by the way. I was reading Poppa's (Roaddog wolf) and the beautiful of it took mybreath away.

Will see what I can do. Cannot promise anything.

    God bless,
