This contest is open to Winklings, The Rose Garden and all AP Friends
Hello wonderful poets! We are so pleased to have you join us for our collaboration contest. If you have not already picked a partner, please do so and join in.
If you are having difficulty finding a partner, please let us know and we will help to find a partner for you.
We share so much with so many here on the site, it seems only appropriate to put those brilliant minds together and pen a sensation.
That's right, we said a sensation and we know you can do it so Ken and I have put together something special for you.
As promised, here are your contest instructions:
Your Prompt is: Perseverance
Rhyme or not, it's up to you.
If you would be so kind, whoever is posting the piece, please be sure to add your partner as a collaborator on your poem.
And of course,
THE RULES:
1. Proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation are required and WILL matter
2. Please, no sticky caps
3. No cutting, suicide, or self-mutilation
4. No erotica, tastefully sensual is ok as long as it fits the subject matter
5. Step out of the box and learn
6. Please left align
7. Have fun and remember, it's ALL about the poetry!
OK. Off you go now. Remember, collaborations take time and effort so please do not rush to post. You will have all the time you need to accomplish the task and get your poem posted.
Happy penning. We look forward to some wonderful entries.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on July 20, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 3000, Silver: 1500, Bronze: 750
- Final notes: **********************
Thank you all for your wonderful entries in this collaboration contest. I think it is probably a record for number of entries in a collaboration contest, but I am not sure. What I am sure of is that 36 of you committed to this contest and gave us wonderful poetry to feast upon.
We were thrilled with the entries received and it took some time to read, evaluate and judge this contest. Know now that you are all winners as collaborations take time, effort and the ability to work well with another poet. Making your poetry smooth and seamless takes skill.
You have all shown your skills in this contest.
But now it comes to finalizing and closing this contest. So, without further ado ----
GOLD - Beyond Perseverance
SILVER - Mama came to see
BRONZE - Let us 'string' you a-long story
FINALIST - A Season Due
FINALIST - Insecticide, Anarchy and Malathion Pools
Congratulations to our top five entries and top 10 poets. Very very well done.

dear lyndon, pamela and idlemindwondering,
thank you so much for this wonderful reward for our little zen-spirit-poem ... I am glad that it has touched your hearts ... it was a great honor for me to joyfully collaborate with one of the finest poetesses on ap, lady mairi bheag, and that our combined spirits have brought an invisible seed of inspiration into fruition ...
my gratitude goes out to you, mairi ...
thank you for having guided this naïve little girl maa on her hesitant and insecure path through the fascinating world of poetry ... you are a lighthouse to many ...
also, heartfelt congratulations to all the poets who have found the heart and joy of collaborating and birthing beauty through their colorful weavings of their inspired souls ...
much love to all of you,
maa

Along with Mallig an heartfelt thanks to the Judges and hosts, Lyndon, Pamela, and Ken for all of the kind and generous comments, collaboration is often difficult but to me always rewarding when an achievement that neither individually would make is the happy result. Thank you for the honor of the silver cup, congratulations to all of the entrants for their outstanding work, and especially to Mairi and Maa for their well earned Gold cup...PK
