BIG POINTS….Tons of Options (Fresh Writes Only)

Well this is my second contest and the last one was awesome and filled up fast….too fast I think because I allowed pre-writes. So this one will be for fresh writes only. (But big points so no complaining). Surprised

Here are the OPTIONS:

#1 – Show me strength / survival.
#2 – Write about a real person who is worthy of being a roll model or hero.
#3 – Give me a fairy tale twist.
#4 – Dedicate a poem to someone (But NOT mushy gushy love)
#5 – Pick a real picture of YOURS and use it as a prompt. (attach to your poem please!)
#6 – Clocks (I love them) give me a metaphorical poem based around a clock/ time.
#7 – Oxymoron’s (love them too) ….work it into a poem or make it the subject.
#8 – Female killer (I am so hooked on the show “Snapped” its all I watch….all female killers…its awesome) so anyway….Write me up something about a twisted chick who snaps….That will surely put me in a good mood.

#9 - Angels and Demons (both, not one or the other)

That’s it.

Oh….if your working on something good and think I should add an option…..let me know….because most likely I will!

** I am a rhymer myself but enjoy and appreciate all types of writing …..but I will be the first one to say if your NOT going to rhyme make it good and it better not sound forced, lol.

RULES:  1) fresh writes 2) one entry per person 3) please put prompt in authors notes.

Thanks!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on April 30
  • Rewards: Gold: 1500, Silver: 750, Bronze: 500, Honorable mention: 8 people
  • Final notes:
Oh man....I dont know if I will ever even do another contest this was so dang hard to judge! The entries were simply amazing and I feel bad that those freaking honorables only give 30 points and I cant add more! (If I could I would as its MUCH deserved) .....My finalists are in order....style wise and subject range all over the place...Picked based on how I felt after reading, and how many times I felt compelled to read again!

    Gold -
Wow....what else can I say? Amazingly beautiful, full of grace and truth. LOVED it!

    Silver -
Written extremely well with fluent rhyme and a clever twist, made me laugh out loud with every read.

    Bronze -
Fired up and ready to take on the world....Your piece was full of strength...Pure beauty!

All of the writes were a joy to read....the finalists blew my mind....PLEASE dont remove your entries when this baby closes, I want to come back and read again. (and if I ever do another contest, chances are it will be invite only...and I need to be able to find you!)

    Thanks again!

    Jamie
