Okay, I have done a contest similar to this before and it's pretty straight forward. Below you will find 5 groups...these groups contain 1 lyric from a random Beatles song and 3 titles from the Beatles. Your job is to use the lyric as your theme and write me a 15 (give or take 1 or 2) line poem using the titles as an integrated part of your piece. Sounds easy enough, right! Lets get this party started!
Group 1
"Living is easy with eyes closed
Misunderstanding all you see"

--Eight Days a week
--Don't let me down
Group 2
"You may be a lover but you're no dancer"
--Do you want to know a secret?
--Crying, waiting, hoping
--Money (that's what i want)
Group 3
"I look at the world and notice it's turning"
--Devil in her heart
--Paperback writer
--Why don't we do it in the Road?
Group 4
"the man of 1000 voices talks perfectly loud
But nobody hears him"
--the long and winding road
--P.S. I love you
--Like dreamers do
Group 5
"When you're dead you don't take anything with you but your soul"
--All my loving
--Not guilty
--the fool on the hill
now for the Rules!
1. Please message me with the group you choose, i want to have a max of 4 people on each group.
2. I am an english major, so bad grammar is a big, huge, turn off. Please use spell check!
3. I accept any style of free verse or meter, and any topic that the lyric inspires you to follow
4. Sticky caps and chat speak bother me...enough said.
5. the ONLY thing you can change about the titles you are given is the pronoun POV (I to you...etc...)
6. When i say use the titles, i mean they must be in your poem. You will receive only one warning to fix this.

- Final notes: well guys...thanks for making this contest worth judging! I'd rather have entries that are right on, and i can enjoy reading, than 30 that make me hate my life and feel the beatles rolling in their graves. It was a really close contest, and sorry for the delay and lack of comments, but i'm in the middle of finals...but i will comment in each one before the end of May. I promise!!!!!
