  for fun

  this has way too many lines to be in your contest, but a while back, I wrote this to cheer myself up from depression and it worked. to the tune of the julie andrews song - here is my version.
  MY PERSONAL FAVORITE THINGS
  
  When I take fun trips to far away places
  Or put bright smiles on my children’s faces
  Movies & popcorn, and sunshine and spring
  These are a few of my favorite things
  
  Walking barefoot on bright, wet, sandy beaches
  Counting stars on summer nights of warm breezes
  “Goose-pimple music” & wild geese honking
  These are a few of my favorite things
  
  Romantic sunsets, & strong hugs & kissing
  Marsh mellows, campfires, & cards games & winning
  Loosing weight still eating chocolate ice cream
  These are a few of my favorite things
  
  When I feel bad & I’m so sad
  And I need a friend
  I remember God loves me just as I am
  & He helps me up again
  
  Making snow angels, and grandmother’s cookies
  Christmas lights twinkling and dressing & turkey
  Singing a Christmas song, composed by me
  These are a few of my favorite things
  
  Swimming and boating, and diving & chasing
  Laughter & giggles and picnics and daisies
  Good conversation and good company
  These are a few of my favorite things
  
  Watching my children go after their dreams
  Sharing their highs & lows and in betweens
  Their love & the times when they felt they had wings
  These are a few of my favorite things
  
  When I’m angry, when I’m lonely
  I won’t stay down long
  I’ll simply remember my favorite things
