Hello everyone and welcome to my first contest. As the title alludes, this contest will deal with fear. What I am looking for is for you to dig down deep and exume the raw, primitive fears that eat away at you on those distracted, pessimistic nights in which your brain is so full of nothingness you can't sleep. I want you to make this fear real to me as if it were my own, I want you to make me fear your fear. Pull me into the depths of your darkness and madness.
I'm not going to be cliche here and ask for brillance, beauty, and awesomeness. Fear is not synonymous with these words and I won't pretend otherwise. What I seek is real, true, and honest content. Everyone has fears, even if its the fear of fear or fear farting, I don't care, it's your fear and you believe in that fear.
Lets break this down so everyone is on the same level, here are some things that you could include to help make your piece better:
1. describe your fear like you see and feel it
2. explain why you can't get over this fear
3. maybe explain how you can overcome this fear
4. explain how it affects you and the people around you
And now for the feared rules:
1. No sticky caps or chat speak, im dsylexic as it is.
2. No bashing or harrassing, there is no need, and this is an instant DQ no warnings or questions
3. No line limit, try not write a book though
4. Any form is accepted, cause fear takes many forms
5. Profanity and Erotica are accepted if it fits and is coherent with the theme, please label appropriately.
6. Any other rules that need to be applied I will post as applicable.
I do advise using spell and grammar check on these so that I can fully understand and grasp what you write. I will correct you on all your grammar and spelling once and you have till I close the contest to fix it, if not it wont be a finalist.
I will give you one warning only on any violations herein before you are DQ'd unless otherwise noted.
Points will increase with quality of work
More then likely will be HMs too especially if the work warrants.
So enjoy yourself, expand your mind and talent, and hopefully you'll take something with you from this!

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on May 5, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 2000, Silver: 1500, Bronze: 1000, Honorable mention: 18 people
- Final notes: I was pleasently surprised by the turn out of this contest and the amount of depth and quality of the entries. I applaud each and every one of you for stepping and discussing your fears out in the open as have here, as you can see, there were over 400 views of this contest but only 21 entries...that, in itself should speak volumes of your grit and bravery to step up to my challange, which is why every walks away a winner here, I ask for some tough material and wanted you all to walk away having gained something, even it is only a meager amount of points and a bronze trophy thats been left out in the rain, lol. As I spoke earlier and I repeat; I apologize for not commenting on everyone in time for corrections to be made before closing, as I said, no one was penalized as for the winners, gold made wince and cringe throughout the poem, silver mirrors one of my own fears and I really enjoyed their descriptions througout, bronze again was relateable and I have had the fear they speak of, and it hit a personal note with me. Last but not in any way least, the rest of you did a marvelous job and the HMs are in no order whatsoever. Thank you again for all of your entries, your time, patience and bravery. I hope that everyone of you learned something and most of all enjoyed this expirence. Have fun and I hope to see some of you in future contests that I hold!
