Changing Seasons, Nature Calls!

Basically, I want nature poetry, especially about the changing of the seasons and the fact that it's spring now (yay!), but basically anything pagan or about nature.

My last contest got basically no entries and bombed, so please make this worth it. I'll add more points and perhaps trophies as/if I get more entries.

I'm allowing prewrites, but I'd prefer fresh stuff. You can also enter as many times as you want, but make them good!

That's it! Let's do it!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on April 24, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 3 people
  • Final notes:
Thanks for all the wonderful entries! You really made nature and spring come alive. Thanks especially to those who gave me original pieces rather than prewrites, although the prewrites were beautiful as well.

    Frost Goddess Weeps

    I knew if I look
Seasons change, and so did I
    No surprises there.

    Ripe green buds shoot from
The sky, so it seems would sing
    Summer lullabies

    Hazy nights just a
    Hammock swaying in the breeze
    Lead me to autumn.

    Lone forgotten leaf
    Broken hearts mend so slowly
    Winter draws apace

    The frost goddess weeps
    Tears of ice-covered chaos
    Approach, friendly spring.

    They shut the blinds
So that never can we see
    A nice day outside.

Beautiful! I love the ideas. . . why isn't this entered as a poem so I can give it a prize?

I think it must be because I'm new to the site and don't know how to properly use it yet. But thank you very much for the comment, I appreciate it =)

Sounds like fun, especially since I just spent a lot of time in some pretty sandstone mountains. I'll see what I can do.
