Another Day Another contest

Write an Epitaph

Sincere and loving ones only this time around

Sorry no humor.

Mother a loving soul
while here on earth shadowing her children
assuring them of their worth.
Now in the arms of Jesus she rest,
awaiting for us to join her in Heavens nest.

An epitaph is a brief poem normally one verse inscribed on a tombstone, praising a deceased person, usually with rhyming lines. It is a fairly easy write for even those that do not favor rhyme.

It can be funny, or a serious memorial. Onlt serious entries this time around.

Ok Amera my favorite form writer here on AP and I have both done this contest  and we did allow them on humor and they were so much fun! But now I am here to do it once again, only this time I am asking for the more sincere writes.

No humor aloud this time around!

So sorry, maybe who wins this will do another one with Humor.

They are fun to write and to read.

It can be your own or for a loved one or a friend,

They do not have to have already had past on,

you can write one for a friend, a love, a mother , husband, whoever you want

let them know what your last dedication of words would be to them.

Good Luck

If you want to make a tomb stone as above “ Thanks to Amera for finding this”
you can make it here: http://www.jjchandler.com/tombstone/download.phpThe tomb stone is limited to the words,
However, you can place the tomb stone with name and so on
and write the poem under.

Rules:
Just enjoy and please
know with this topic it will be based on how it touches my heart
more so then the quality of rhyme.
But, please try to rhyme.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on April 16, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 75, Bronze: 50, Honorable mention: 4 people
  • Final notes:
Thank you all for entering the contest, Gold I felt was the best do to the rhyme and information, also it showed me how much maud will be lovingly missed, and my grandmothers kisses were always something we knew we would receive when we entered her home and left with a hug and come back.

Silver Rebeccas Poem touched me so much in the other contest and now with the picture added it touched my heart even deeper, I am so proud of her courage and keeping her husbands memory alive for her daughter.

Bronze was a perfected short sweet verse to read on a tombstone, and rhymed well. leaving a message we cxould all learn to live by.

Mystical, I know the love you have for your father as I have read stories you have written of him and will be in our books, your poiem touched me extremly and your love for him shines through if I could award more trophies I'd award you a gold for all the love I know you hold for your father is Golden.

Buried treasures you have penned a perfect epth in length and words the rhyme is great if I could give another gold you would be getting one also!
Redwing if I could give more trophies then green I would award you a silver.
You worked very hard on this write and the stone so it is a green trophy, but given as a silver.

Bright x I still feel your pain of loosing your friend through your write and to me that is honorable of reciving a trophy!

    Last but not least,
Kyo your write is very different yet sends a strong message upon abortion, I am one that thinks abortion should be womans choice, however I think it should be limited to dier curcumstances, as if the mothers life is in danger, or the pregnancy came from rape, I do despise the act of aborstion on selfish reasoning, thank you for the poem! and sharing your thoughs .

To all the other entries some were beautiful writes, however you did not take time to read the guide lines are even take the time to see what an Epitaph is. When entering a contest if you want to win spend 4 mins reading rules.

    tahnk you all for entering.

I feel kind of stupid for getting all teary eyed with this one and writing something stupid like I did...

I am thinking about changing it still... again... idk yet though. :-\
