The Roast of Roaddog Wolf

May the winds be billowing your sails

The waters calm and soothing to your soul

With love at the helm always in peace and harmony

This is

THE ROAST of ROADDOG WOLF.

This poet has  been on AP for almost a full year .... he started celebrations back in February

hey we are not holding it against him that he wanted to start EARLY

My partner in crime Poetic Whisperer and I pointed out this mistake. Both being Aussies well  we were not letting this escape us and as the infamous Newcatle Song ( Bob Huson) goes ....

'Don't you ever let a chance go by, oh Lord

Don't you ever let a chance go by

And all of a sudden there was a break in the traffic,

and as any young Newcastle lad knows

when you're getting monstered

by a nine foot tall Hells Angel

and there's a break in the traffic....

Don't you ever let a chance go by, oh Lord

Don't you ever let a chance go by.'

We have extended the closing date another week as Poetic Whisperer / Karen has been moving.

It has come to this, the day has arrived to roast the butt of a Roaddog Wolf.

We noticed that this Roaddog has some distinctive favoured words so we have arranged a collection of some of them as a wordbank option. If you use the wordbank option please use at least 10 of the selected words............

 Wordbank

Resplendent  Coruscate  Renditions   Zephyr  Cascade  Serenities  Inveigled Transcending  Transitions  Incessant  Sublime  Epiphany  Filigree  Sojourn Mundane  Serene  Silhouettes   Calliope  Resonates  Tangerine  Sunset  Sky

The second option...if you have enjoyed the company of the Roaddog and have a funny story to share with us about the man  or just send him up in a roast  that is fitting we would ALL like to hear about it.  This is the chance for friends of Roaddog Wolf to Roast him, have go at him, expose him, Roast his Roaddog rump. Claws in but sharpened!! This is a fun Roast dont want to char grill his butt just Roast it to medium rare.Just make him scream like a girl (yeah, like that's going to happen) and squirm in his seat but have tears of laughter rolling down his face and ours.

30 poets

20-30 lines .... please no books but if you need more message us.

No Dirty Pretty.

No sticky caps or chat lingo..

Catergorize  correctly.

Commonsense this is a fun roast.

Place  your option in author notes.

We have a Roast Toast of some of his many titles..please there is no need to comment if you wish to visit the link;

We may add our own piece to help raise the heat but any  write by judges will not be included for points or trophies naturally. We have asked the man himself to assist in the judging seems only fair if we are roasting his pants off.

More HMs maybe added before close of contest date.  We hope to judge on the 27th April the true anniversay of when the Roaddog Wolf first graced us with his presence on AP.

If you are able to use the border please do so as it was designed for this roast by the talented Jeannie D...please credit her .

TURN UP THE HEAT THE ROAST IS ON. ONE  LAST THING HAVE FUN

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on May 6, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 1800, Silver: 900, Bronze: 500, Honorable mention: 5 people
  • Final notes:
The Roasting of Roaddog Wolf has come to an end the flames have been put out and the smell of burning hair is fading from nostrils. Serenity is returning the order of the natural world is finding balance once more. Perhaps when next year rolls around Roaddog will have learnt to take off his shoes and socks or remember there are 12 months in a year 365 days but every 4 years there are 366 days in the year.....Now this could cause him a problem but hey we may have been able to ed-u-mc-cate him by then....am thinking donations for counting beads may help as he could play with those litte balls as he hits the road on his Hogz....This is it Harley Houdinihogasuarus (what were we thinking when we pulled that name out of the bag) HH is so much easier on the fingers....Hope you have got a laugh from your roasting Roaddog. To all who joined in thank you.
