Calling all political poetry. (Any type)

Hello all,
This is the first contest I have hosted so we'll see how it goes...
I want all your political poetry. I especially enjoy satires and poems about occult or "hidden" knowledge. Feel free to enter a prewritten poem. Please, only one poem per poet. Spelling, grammar, and punctuation are musts. I WILL COMMENT ON EACH POEM.

I appreciate quick witted writing and I really despise over used words. If it rhymes, it should not seem forced, unless this is only compromised for the content and meaning or message.

A few rules:
1) No chat speak
2) Foul language should not be pointlessly so.
3) No epic poems.
4) Try to keep religion out of it if at all possible!
5) I am the judge, what I say goes.

So far I am offering 300 pts for gold. I will give pts for silver and bronze as well, the amount depending on what I have at the time.

If you wouldn't mind, please put your author name in the notes. i would like to expand on my favorites list! Thank you!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on April 23, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 300
  • Final notes:
Thank you all for caring enough to use poetry to make a difference rather than as an escape. I feel most people are too uncomfortable with the painful realizations most of these ideas bring nor do they feel that they can do anything to change the consequences they bring about. You are not those people; I applaud you. If you are one of the few I didn't comment on, I will be with you shortly.
    Seek the truth,
    Leah

Thanks for the trophy. You guys should look into these new world order idealists, they're runnin' the show and the outlook doesn't look good, considering the past.
