This is about my tenth contest, and I'm in a very haiku mood, so you can write on any topic you want I.E. (nature, erotica, horror, anything goes, as long as its haiku, mostly nature since haiku is more nature than anything else)
i want to get between 20 and 30 entries before i close this contest to go to the second round
Here's how judging goes (each round increases in points for first place only and increases for 2nd and 3rd)
Round one (this round)- You don't have to be invited, you can only enter one haiku so its fair for the next two rounds. There will be an unlimited amount of entries and will be closed on the 15th.
1st-gold-300 points
2nd-silver-20 points
3rd-bronze-10 points
Round 2 will be invites from this round
1st-400 points, 2nd, and 3rd places will automatically enter the second round and so will 10 or 15 authors of my choice (depending how many entries i get) will be invited for round 3)
1st-400 points, 2nd- 50 points, and 3rd is 30 points
Round 3 will be invites from the top 5 of my choice from round 2 and only 1st place will recieve the top prize of 600 points none for 2nd and 3rd
You don't have to have exactly 5-7-5 format
but as long as the first line doesn't go over 5, and the second line doesn't go over 7 and the third line doesn't go over 5 syllables
I suggest you take haiku monks beginners haiku class if you really want a good chance at winning, his class gives ton of information on the formation of a good haiku and alot more, but if you really do know how to write haiku go ahead and enter
Rules as followed:
1. please no sTiCkY cApS
2. please make the "aha" moment clear
thats it, have fun and good luck
If you have any questions please PM me
