forgive me... again?

I really have a personal thing with this, but you will have to be creative to win.

Forgiveness...

is it to erase the bad from your memory?
what does it smell like?
can it breathe and die like a person?
is it an illness or its cure?
is it still walking by a friend's side?
does it mean renewed trust?
if it were human, how old would it be and what would it dress like?
is it a song or silence?
do we deserve it?
if it were a landscape, seascape, or season, which would it be?

Please, do not just answer the questions... these are just here to make you think.

Find one word that will be a metaphor for forgiveness and go from there.

Don't include the word "forgiveness" in your piece.

20 lines or less.

If you want, check my favorites' work to know what kind of poetry will win.

And please, don't go all religious on me (well unless you do it in taste).

Good luck writing some breathtaking poetry

Yeah, well, your poetry keeps my attention and is worth reading, but I need that rule for other folks who may enter lengthy whiny stuff... and I can't play favorites.
But I hope you'll enter anyway
