Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on April 2, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 100, Bronze: 75, Honorable mention: 5 people
  • Final notes:
well this contest began as an April Fools joke and it sort of back fired on me in the respect that suddenly I found that there were those taking it serious and I felt bad because I might be hurting feelings, well fortunately it was a few of you April foolin me, LOL and everyone has been very good about it but, the poetry entered was not April fools day poetry.

There were allot of very good poems entered. Every poem in the contest was written well. I had to add a couple more HM for the finalist list. All the finalist were very good.

Gold just excelled in many fashions not only using a bevy of uniquely different words of vocabulary but using them in perfect context in a rhyming poem with, in my opinion, flawless rhythm, rhyme, structure and grammar. An exceptional write

Silver and Bronze were also very good writes of quality, depth and heart.

Thank you all for entering and hope to see you all again soon.

    HA!HA!HA!

well, nonetheless, i entered your contest anyway because 1) i love the photo you have used for prompt one and 2) i wanted to see if i could write something that used the pic and met prompt 2. i don't think i made it but i gave it my best shot for having such short time. hope noone gets you as good as you have gotten some with this contest. i am certain that many will not look at the points offered and get the joke. i remember a few years ago when kevin announced that they were deleting all poetry written before a previous date. i had just learned how to use a comp and didn't know how to back up my work. i spent something like six hours frantically trying to copy and paste my poems to a word file only to find out it was a joke. ha! fereaking ha! have fun with your contest. viyanna rosemarie

Congrats to the Gold trophy winner ~ excellent poem.

Thank you, Roaddog for the Silver... great little April Fools hoax ...but at least it served to stimulate the muse, so it was a win-win situation!
