I'm in search of new favorites! Make me want to add you and read you all the time!
I will not be mean and block my existing favorites from entering. I love you guys and your work for a reason... so feel free to enter.
Rules:
1) Check spelling and grammar.
2) One entry per person.
3) Put your option in your author's notes.
Options:
1) Give me your very best pre-write. It better be AWESOME, too!
2) Suicide, depression, cutting... all that dark stuff. Make me feel it.
3) Explicit erotica. Feel free to go all out and be very graphic. Your goal is to make me blush or squirm. Profanity is fine with me, too. Just make sure you label it as erotic or adult... don't want any little ones reading it.
4) Mental disorders. I have the diagnosis of Bipolar II Disorder... and I'm just going off Lithium (not so fun, by the way). Take what you know or what you feel and run with it. It would be nice if you put in your author's notes the reason why you chose this option (if you're bipolar also, I'd like to know).
5) Inspire me. Simple as that.
6) I love trees - my Mom even calls me a "tree-hugger". Write a metaphorical piece about a tree (or trees).
7) Metaphorical poetry. Give me a great extended metaphor.
8) Love. Make sure it's unique and not overly fraught with cliches.
9) Photography. Be inspired. Can be picture inspired or about the art of photography itself. Include the pic or link to the pic, if possible, in author's notes.
10) Children. I work with them every day... when they are at their worst. Make me love them again. LOL.
11) Music. Be inspired by music. Can be inspiration from a particular song or set of lyrics, a particular band, or just about the art of music in general. Include the artist, song, etc., if applicable, in author's notes.
12) Books and poetry. Be inspired by other poems and books. Include info about book, poem, and author in author's notes. Tell me why this inspires you and/or why you are drawn to it.
13) Be a story-teller in your poem. Particularly difficult to do well... but impress me with it. I want to see character development, background, and conflict - in a poem!
14) Be inspired by paintings/art. Choose your own favorite work to write about (or write about creating art or painting). Include name and artist, or pic, or url, if possible, in author's notes.
15) Tell me about your job. Be humorous, be inspiring, or make me feel sorry for you. Include any info you feel might interest me in your author's notes.
16) Write about the actual act of writing. Make it original.
17) Write about what inspires you to write poetry. Why do you write? How do you write? Are obsessed with leaving a legacy behind (as I am)?
18) Pets. I have three cats whom I love like children (Keira, Branna, and Ashlyn). Be inspired by pets in general or write about your pet.
19) Tell me about your favorite hobby. Do you go horse-back riding? Do you play a sport? Scrapbooking? Jewelry-making? Acting?
20) I'm getting ready to volunteer for our local crisis/suicide prevention hotline. Have you ever been a volunteer? Tell me an inspiring story to get me psyched (well I don't know if it's really possible to get me more excited than I already am, but... we'll see).
21) Travel. Be inspired by traveling. It can be somewhere you've been or somewhere you dream of going. Include info in your author's notes.
I may add more options if I think of them.
I will comment on every entry, but I will not be able to applaud every entry (running out of points).
I may add more points if I am able and entries are deserving (and HMs).

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on March 25
- Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 2 people
- Final notes: Wow! What a difficult contest to judge!
I had an especially difficult time delegating trophies among the finalists, but settled on this order on the basis of poetic skill, use of metaphor, originality, and how much the poem appealed to me.
Thank you all for entering!!!
Congrats to the winners and I hope you all enter my contests again in the future!!!
- To judge this contest, you need to have at least as many finalists as you have rewards. You have 4 awards but only 3 finalists.

This seemed quite apt for what you were asking for I only hope it suits. Looking at my life this is what hurt the most and nearly took me out of the race entirely.Hit the wall and carried on eh?

I'm already a favorite

Love ya sis!
-
I wanna enter more than one! I got bunch I could do! I guess I will just have to pick one... hmmm
-
I picked 14 because I have looked for a contest with that option or one just for it but have never found one so even though I have others I could easily enter for such as:
1) Prewrite - Too many to chose from...!
2) Suicide etc. - I am anti-suicidal but I wrote a anti-suicidal poem with suicidal content.
4) I suffer from clinical depression and partial epilepsy - both of which I have written about.
5) I am not sure if I could inspire you but I know I could try.
7) I love metaphorical poetry!
8) Ah, to be in love!
12) Inspired by a short story not so much a book..
13) Story telling it's nice to do it in a poetic form.
14) I picked and entered for this option.
17) In a way.. -
thank you for silver
