Plethora Of Options

All right, since my last contest was a disaster due to lack of entering, i decided to make another one that would hopefully pique peoples interest.
You need to pick one of the catagories or the picture as a prompt and write a poem about it.
It can be freeverse or non, it can be any style you want as long as it does not suck.

If i don't get enough entries, i will close down the
contest, sorry.

Options:

1 Write Me a Poem about Violence. Whether for it or against, or even simply a graphic depiction of it, i want raw emotion and i want great imagery.

2 Progress. Write me a poem about the progress in the world, where you think we are heading, what the results will be etc. etc. Make it good.

3 Robots, what do you think about them?? will we be replaced by robots? Hmm?

4 Write a poem based off my picture. Yes, i know it is random, that's the point. Be creative on this one and you will get brownie points. Btw, the poem was taken by Marcin Stawiarz, you can visit the website at http://www.stawiarz.com/ to see some really great photos.

5 Suicide. I know its overused and cliche, but i don't want "My life is spiraling down. Let me die now, stab stab rip stab" I want (1) your thoughts of suicide, epsecially the high rate of teen suicide or (2) an acount of suicide. IF YOU CAN WRITE A POEM ABOUT COMMITING SUICDE WITHOUT SOUNDING HORRIBLY EMO AND CLICHE, YOU WILL GET SOME SERIOUS BROWNIE POINTS.

6 Write a peom inspired by the poem "Mutation" by William Cullen Bryant. Heres a link:
http://www.poetry-archive.com/b/mutation.html

7 write about falling, whether physically or spiritually or metaphorically.

8 Write about writing. Tell me what makes you write what you do, wat makes you even want to. And if you think it (being your poetry/prose) makes any difference.

9 Read any one of my poems and write something similar. just say the same thing i did, but in YOUR words.

10 write whatever the hell you want. if it sucks, you lose, if not, congratulations.

11 Make me cry. Plain and Simple. I don't want cheesy, i don't want gory, and i deffinately don't want depressing or emo. Just give me Sad.

Will probably add more later, but thats all for now.

RULES!!! PLEASE READ!!
1 Put your name in authors box.
2 no chat lingo.
3 no sticky caps or all caps.
4 i don't really get dirty pretty, but if you explain it to me, then you can post it.
5 cussing is fine, but make sure that it flows with your poem, and don't abuse it.
6 don't bash other poets please.
7 if you aren't a naturally good speller, spell check is your friend!
8 Please stick to the topics.

Have Fun.

Thanatopsis is a great poem ...

but I am not familiar with the poem you mention. I will check it out, but I have to say that William Cullen Bryant was a hell of a good poet.

I doubt if I will get to this, but I like the ideas in your contest. If I get to feeling better, I will think about it.
