Japanese Culture Tribute.

Make me feel like I'm beneath a Sakura tree.
Write your very best imagery poem, but I also want to feel emotion. Write about anything that has to do with the Japanese culture. Or you can write about anything, but it has to be a Haiku or Tanka.

Haiku- First line, 5 syllables, Second line, 7 syllables, Third line, 5 syllables.

Tanka- First line, 5 syllables, Second line, 7 syllables, Third line 5 syllables, Fourth line, 7 syllables, Fifth line, 7 syllables.

I want emotion in your poetry!
Make me feel like I'm in Japan.
Or make me want to be there.
You can write about a person at the place, but imagery and emotions are the keys I need.
You can even mix your own experiences with this poem.

RULES:

1. No erotica.
2. No religious references.
3. If any swear words, keep to a minimum.
4. If you're not writing in Japanese form, I only want freeverse.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on March 30, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 300
  • Final notes:
Thank you to all who entered!
This was rather hard to judge, and if I had more points, there would've been more prizes, but I think the awards were deserved in the order I had put them in.
I'll start another contest once I get more points, so keep on the lookout, and thank you all again!
