I've been waiting so long to think of an excellent idea for a contest and i have thought of one....
So i had the most nostalgic moment now reading through a list of the 100 CLASSIC kids books that we ALL grew up on -or- had some contact with....and i felt that kids don't really get a chance to read them like we all did....thus i felt that these books are still in our hearts even though we might have forgoten them all....
so my contest is to write a poem on these books [i will give some examples and a link soon] and how they made you feel first reading them, how they make you feel now reminiscing, how you wish they'd make kids today feel, -or- pretty much anything, being the nostalgic person i am, all i am really looking for is a feeling of nostalgia in your poems....
here are a list of books that i love, so i am recommending them, but you may choose whatever you like:
Bridge to Terabithia [Katherin Paterson]
Where the Wild Things Are [Maurice Sendak*]
Where the Red Fern Grows [Wilson Rawls]
