I want to hear about the wonderful emotion that comes from the joys of your everyday life. I am not talking about the joy that you experience in those once in a lifetime events like the birth of a child or a wedding. Make your poem about joy from something seemingly mundane; something you do everyday. For me, I would write about the running I do every other day with my best friend.
Here are some examples from off the top of my head:
Taking a long bath
Going on a walk with your pet
Waking up next to the love of your life
Playing board games with your child
Although there are many things that can bring us joy, please do not include erotica in this contest.
Please use imagery to make me sense and fully experience your delight & joy.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on March 25, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 150, Bronze: 75, Honorable mention: 3 people
- Final notes: Congratulations to the winners of the contest! As always, it was a difficult choice. Thank you to all that entered. The winners are:
Gold - Simple Things in Life: a poem with good rhythm and rhyme about the joy of feeding a red breasted robin
Silver - True Love Weights: this poem had a playful tone about meeting up with a workout partner at the gym
Bronze - The special time...: a poem that could be describing seeing one's lover, but the pictures turns it into something different
There were a couple of poems that I felt needed to be especially acknowledged so I added them to honorable mention:
not alone
until the next morning...
Lilies
I realized after I judged that really leaned towards poems that were not pre-written. Thank you to those who wrote poems especially for the contest. I wish I could have chosen more poems because you all did such great work. If I haven't yet commented on your poem, I will within the next week.

Hi! I was just wondering if you belonged to any other on-line communities and used the same user name. You remind me of someone I know on another site, just curious.
