11 entries only, I expect reservations;
they will be necessary in order to
secure your prompt.
This theme is unique as far as I know,
I'll accept applause later...
I have eleven captivating photographs;
all are based in Nature.
Below, will be a list of each images'
Title and artist. You will RESERVE
your spot using the title of your
chosen (unseen) image and I will then
remove it from the available list.
{Do not email me asking as I would like
to keep this as anonymous as possible)
Here's the fun part:
you will write a personification and/or
metaphor about nature with only the
title & theme in mind...image will not
be revealed until everyone has COMPLETED
their works & I've commented each!
Images: Titles/artists

If It Is Dark Again~~~Gansebluhmchen

Return Of Winter~~~Nubaumer Thomas

"Sunlight Or Hourglass"~~~Siegfried Wiel

"Surprised"~~~Fritzl H.

"When Touched"~~~Liba Radova

"Frozen Fog"~~~Gabriele Tesch

"Show In My Eyes" by A Ebert

"From The Bottom" by Andreas Richter

"Gnarled" by Q.T. Luong
***ALL images will be posted to contest
when entries have been completed. There
will be NO editing allowed after I have
commented each entry (I will send an
email to all when this is accomplished).
I'll hope that each poet will be able to
copy & post the image to their completed work.
Now some guidelines for your painting:
1} Do NOT take the title of the image
literally...believe me, it shouldn't be.
2} Show connection to Nature;
I will be looking for deeper insights.
3} Remember, personification and/or
metaphors are being sought here.
4} Judging will include all of the above
as well as how well I can relate the write
to the actual image.
Give it to me in fluid free-verse or form;
Nothing shorter than ten lines will be accepted.
And please, no lyrics or prose...poetry only.
Do not enter your piece into other contests
while it is still running in this one.
Anything deemed intolerant, humorous or tactless
will be removed without notice or comment.
Use common sense and read the guidelines...

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on March 10, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 630, Silver: 490, Bronze: 319
- Final notes: This was a difficult one to judge but that just means I had to read over and over again! After points tallied, "C" and "Twain" were tied for gold. I then had to fall back on other areas of comparison in order to choose one over the other. I still would rather have awarded two golds!
Most of you scored well in the overall three measures; but "Cycles" edged the remaining competition by one pt. I am adding these details in the hopes it
causes all to realize just how close the judging was.
And that was not an easy feat given the fact each image was hidden until all words
were written. It truly is amazing to see
what the mind's eye will paint drawing from only a few words and the personality of the artist. I will look to follow this theme
up with another, varying the inspiration.
I sincerely hope everyone had fun; I sure did! In appreciation always, Blue

Well, THANK-YOU! I do have my moments and am
happy to have this theme pop into my creative
sphere just in time for Spring. If it goes
over well, I intend on doing another...and
maybe another; we'll just have to see! -

I will be looking forward to that. Now I am waiting for my image! I am so excited.
