I want to feel expressions of your anger. What is your experience of anger? Do you struggle with what to do about being so upset? What part does anger play a part in your life or the lives of people in general? What makes you angry? Does it cover up a hidden fear or hurt?
Do something out of the ordinary with what you write to make it stand out. Maybe write a unique story of something that made you totally ticked off. Just make me feel it or enlighten me to how anger really is. Also, I like non-traditional imagery such as not using the color red to represent anger. What would purple anger be like?
I prefer free verse, but I also really enjoy "non-forced" rhyming poetry. The length doesn't matter that much to me. I will read really long or really short poetry if it is good.
Thanks for entering!

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on March 10, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 150, Bronze: 75, Honorable mention: 5 people
- Final notes: Thank you to everyone that entered this contest. I am going to try to do more contests with an emotion as the theme. The next one's theme is joy.
Anyway, this was very difficult for me to judge because there were so many amazing entries. The top three winners are as follows:
Gold - Nova: an excellent poem with two unique metaphors, deer and an exploding star
Silver - In the garden of the mind: another great poem that takes the traditional metaphors and makes its own
Bronze - Smash the floorboards up: a good poem in which I could feel the anger rising as the poem progressed
There are 5 that I gave honorable mention to because I really appreciated their work. I really wish I could have given out more. Great job everyone!
