thank you, Mairi; and I am pleased to host this contest.  I request the Gold winner to host a similar contest and I will send additional points for the new contest.

The theme of this contest is big ideas and small words.
I notice the use of difficult and unknown words to write poetry, sometimes it is good, even necessary, and notes help; but many times I think it simply hides the fact that the writer has not much to say.

So the theme is "big ideas ...small words".. free choice of style and topic...

ten lines or less
any style
imagery and metaphor are welcome

ten writers
FEEL FREE TO RESERVE AND RETURN
Judging will reward use of small easily understood words...
