My Mom would be turning 56 on March 3rd 2008. She passed away from pancreatic cancer on September 17th 2002.
My Mom was such a wonderful influence to me, she rescued me when I was born; from a crack cocaine addict and put a VP shunt in my head...and she put me through special schooling.
She's my hero through and through...read my poem my angel to get a better sense of what I'm talking about...
anyway...
I would like you all to write a poem about what you would say if your Mom passed away tomorrow
or you could also write a poem to your Mom if she has already passed ( my heart aches for your loss)
rules should be self explanitory.
I have the right to DQ any entry
No erotica
No swearing
Update 2/28/08: I've gotten a huge and wonderful response. I will be reading all of your poetry, and probably crying in the process...but I'm very excited to read these touching words. Thank you for entering my contest!!!!!

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on March 2
- Rewards: Gold: 800, Silver: 300, Bronze: 150, Honorable mention: 4 people
- Final notes: This is one of the most humbling and best contests I have ever held. I figured it was fitting because tomorrow is my Mothers birthday that I would end the contest tonight.
I want to thank everyone very much for opening up to me about your experiences. If anyone needs to talk I'm here. I like to try and help people. Again, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart, and my Mom thanks you too. :-)

You sound very proud of your lovely mother, and rightly so. You were given a true miracle. God bless you and your mother as well, may she rest in Peace.
I would so love to write for you, but I've reached a point where my words don't come to me anymore. I will simply send best wishes to those who write and send you some extra points to spread around. Hugs, Patricia

What can I say.
I think it is wonderful that you are doing this. I am 59 and I have one natural born child and an adopted son. I am sure your mother would be very proud of you and sees you from heaven. May God richly bless you in life. My mother died from cancer in her brain on March 15, 2001. She was 91 but I still miss her. -
Hey gorgeous Rosita, this is a wonderful idea for a contest and so good too to see so much love on just one page.
Having lost my wonderful Mom in August 2000 I still feel her loss every day of my life so I can see where you are coming from. I hope to see lots of lovely entries for your contest. Love Von
