I need help! My AP daughter; “Faeryn” broke her wrist and elbow while ice skating. I need poems to cheer her up. Will you help me?
You may write in any form you wish and any genre except Erotic or Adult. My daughter is very mature but she is only 15 years old. I want you to write in the form you do best so there is no restriction. I do however have prompts and using one is mandatory. Funny poems are good!
AP poet PerVirtuous; my AP husband and love of my life is helping me sponsor this contest so judging will be by him, Tay and myself.
Rules:
1. You must use her name in the poem, either her AP name “Faeryn” or her real name “Tay”.
2. You must put “Get well soon Tay” in the author’s notes.
Prompts:
Make Faeryn a princess.
Make Faeryn an Elf or Fairy.
Make Faeryn a space explorer.
Make Faeryn a Mad Scientist.
Make Faeryn a confused genie.
Make Faeryn a character in a popular TV show.
Make Faeryn an Olympic athlete.
Make Faeryn a ballet dancer.
OR: Use any of those prompts as long as Tay is a character in the poem.
Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on March 10, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 4000, Silver: 2500, Bronze: 500, Honorable mention: 12 people
- Final notes: As with all my contests the cream of the crop has seemed to emerge making it difficult to judge. Thank goodness there were two other judges. The winner of the gold took the contest by a landslide with poetic imagery and perfect structure. The three of us all agreed. The rest of the entries were fantastic as well and choosing one over another was really tough. I truly want to thank everyone for their wonderful work and for bringing a smile to Tay’s face and that was the point of the contest. Thank you all again on behalf of Tay, Allan and myself.
