This is my first contest. The only rule is no PW.
I took this picture because I saw something in the black sand. Tell me what you see? Simple as that. Have fun!!!
Write as little or as much as you would like.
Any style or form, no limits.
I only ask that you write the poem 'without' reading other contestants entries first, for I would like your first thoughts on this picture. Please put 'without' in authors notes so that I know you read this.
I will comment during judging.
If you use the photo with your poem please credit photographer as below.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on March 12, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 2 people
- Final notes: Thank you to all. I got so many different views on this photo. I thought it looked like the grim reaper -- skeleton face in a long cloak over his head, sharp jagged teeth. you--- thought it was a wooly mammoth, a lion, an evil person, an angel, and even God.. I thought its was so obvious.lol. this was very difficult to judge for there were so many wonderful entries. I look forward to putting your profile with your poem so that I may read more from you. Thanks again. Jennifer

Thanks Rowan, for two weeks each year my camera does not leave my hand. I can usually be found in the strangest positions trying to capture what I see. I have some amazing photos of nature and wildlife and will surely do more contest as I acquire points. May take a while for I am a lousy poet and points are hard to come by.
