So I couldn’t make up my mind on what I really wanted to make this contest about, so there’s going to be eight options.
Option One: Write about something that you love. Not someone, something.
I don’t really want to read about you falling in love with someone right now,
It’s just the mood that I’m in at the moment.
Option Two: Be inspired by these lyrics:
Life Is Beautiful by Sixx: A.M.
You can't quit until you try
You can't live until you die
You can't learn to tell the truth
Until you learn to lie
You can't breathe until you choke
You gotta laugh when you're the joke
There's nothing like a funeral to make you feel alive
Just open your eyes
Just open your eyes
And see that life is beautiful.
Will you swear on your life,
That no one will cry at my funeral?
I know some things that you don't
I've done things that you won't
There's nothing like a trail of blood to find your way back home
I was waiting for my hearse
What came next was so much worse
It took a funeral to make me feel alive
Just open your eyes
Just open your eyes
And see that life is beautiful.
Will you swear on your life,
That no one will cry at my funeral?
Alive...
Just open your eyes
Just open your eyes
And see that life is beautiful.
Will you swear on your life,
That no one will cry at my funeral?
Just open your eyes
Just open your eyes
And see that life is beautiful.
Will you swear on your life,
That no one will cry at my funeral?
Just open your eyes
Just open your eyes
And see that life is beautiful.
Will you swear on your life,
That no one will cry at my funeral?
Option Three: Write about horses.
Yeah, horses, they’re my favorite animal,
And I want to read about them. If you have a horse,
Tell me about it,
Or if you’ve never even been around a horse, tell me why,
Or maybe say what you think about them.
(In movies they make them seem so wild and mean.)
Option Four: Write me something that I can visualize so well that it will blow my mind.
No this does not mean write an erotic poem; it means describe a beautiful outdoor scene,
Or something. No “and then I ran my hand …” stuff, my poor eyes couldn’t take it.
Option Five: Tell me about something you believe strongly in.
Be it a person or a cause,
Tell me about it.
I like hearing peoples perspectives of things.
Option Six: Make me smile.
It’s quite easy to do, but I want to read something that is so good that I smile about it.
This is sort of like the “enter anything” option for you all.
But only enter it if you believe it is good enough to make me smile.
Option Seven: Write about what most don’t want to read about, hurting yourself.
I don’t want the “emo” version of it though the “the world hates me, so I’m going to cut myself and hope I die.” Stuff doesn’t fly with me, because then I will be brutally honest and tell you that it’s crap.
I want you to go into more depth than that. Like why you did it (not just because the world hates you, because that’s not true for anyone, the world is unable to hate). Just give me something with more depth to it than the “emo” stuff.
Option Eight: Dirty Pretty.
Yeah. I said it. D-i-r-t-y P/r/e/t/t/y.
I love reading it, as long as it’s not all over the page.
For example one words at one side of the page, and next word is on the complete other side. It's gets very frustrating.
And I have to look everywhere just to read the poem.
Try and keep it organized.
So the rules are pretty simple:
- No erotica.
- No typing lyk an iDiOt.
- No bashing others, because it will result in me being just as mean as you are to the person you wrote about to you.
- Please, spell check your work before you submit it, little errors don’t bug me, but huge ones do.
- You can only enter once, so make sure the poem you enter is the one that you absolutely want to be in the contest.
- Please, put the option in the author notes, I don’t want it to be a guessing game.
- Have fun.
- I’ll do my part:
I’ll comment on every entry that I get.
I’ll be try and be lenient on the rules a little.
Thank you.

Hey!
God bless you for this contest! my poem ~ Simple Wood ~ has a very special meaning to me... I took a great deal of time on it, and lost my family as a direct result of my writing... I hope that, even if I do not win the contest, you will take the time to read it, and my authors notes...
I truly believe that there is great meaning to be found in life... In either way that its proposition is thrown at you!
Thanks again!

Thanks SO much for the gold!!!
