PIF METAPHOR PROMPT CONTEST- Only 10 Poets, closes after 10 entries....This is to PIF for the gold I won in Mr. Penmans contest

This is to PIF for the gold I won in Mr. Penman's PIF contest.
Winner of this contest will please PIF by holding another PIF contest with their winnings.

Metaphor- Metaphor- Metaphor:

Please write a poem of at least 10 lines but no more than 40 lines or there abouts, making particular use of metaphors. (definition of metaphor below)

I was doing some reading about a couple 60's era musicians, Jimi Hendrix and Bob Dylan(two of my personal old favorites), and found it interesting that, considering they wrote their own lyrics, Jimi Hendrix was inspired to a large extent by Bob Dylan's style of writing, which followed, in many cases the use of metaphors. Obviously they made great use of their word relations and symbolism.

Definition:
met·a·phor (mĕt'ə-fôr', -fər) pronunciation
n.
   1. A figure of speech in which a word or phrase that ordinarily designates one thing is used to designate another, thus making an implicit comparison, as in “a sea of troubles” or “All the world's a stage” (Shakespeare).
2. One thing conceived as representing another; a symbol: “Hollywood has always been an irresistible, prefabricated metaphor for the crass, the materialistic, the shallow, and the craven” (Neal Gabler).

The definition of Metaphor is extensive and considering it's useful poetic importance I might suggest you take a look, so here is the link,
