At what point in time, is self awareness realized while you're growing in your mothers woomb?
Please read the poem below, this should give you an idea of what I'm looking for...
Still Waters
The comfort of warm waters
Surrounds me with calm purpose
I am lost, but unafraid
In this land locked sea
Teaming with the salt of life
I am the eternal swimmer
In tireless motion, without end
With every stroke of my arms
And graceful kick of my feet
My body grows stronger
To match the increasing size
Of what I’ve yet to become
Curious is the sky above me
A translucent curtain in motion
Displaying shapes and figures
Unknown shadows, to my mind
As if it was only yesterday
So big was the sea I swam
And so small I was upon it
Gone is the contentment
That served me as I grew
But now have outgrown
Curiosity ever pulling
I reach for the boundaries
Of safety and security
In a world, now too small
At the bottom of the world
In the fertile bed of my sea
The bottom falls out
And is torn asunder
I am flushed from my world
Into the light of another
As my soul is carried in
With the first breath of life
I exhale with my first cry
And the tears of being born
Written By William J Reed IV
Ok, here we go.
The Prompt: Picture yourself floating in your mothers woomb waiting to be born.
I want you to describe your world, your thoughts and your feelings, from the point of awareness up to the moments right after birth!
I am allowing PreWrites this time, but if they are not on topic they will be DQ'd
Any style is ok except pedestrian rhyme! If you are going to have the nerve to attempt rhyme on this prompt, you better be the God of Rhyme!!!!! T o truley express what I'm after, It will require quite a bit of lattitude in as far as freedom of word usage is concerned and rhyming for this contest will be next to impossible. So if your going to rhyme be warned I'll have it under a microscope!!!
Other than that all the regular rules apply
This is a Big Points Contest So give me your very best

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on April 29, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 1500, Silver: 800, Bronze: 500, Honorable mention: 2 people
- Final notes: I first want to thank every one for being so patient. This was by far the hardest I've judged to date! Gold and silver were awarded for the beauty of their writes and how close they followed the prompt. Bronze was awarded for doing what I thought couldn't be done which was stay very close to the prompt with rhyme.
Thak you all for entering this contest. I truely enjoyed judging this one the most! I look forward to running more thought provoking and muse challanging topics in the future.
