~ Haiku ~ A contest for all Winklings & their Friends #54

A haiku contest for gathering all Winklings to celebrate the seasons.

Haiku with 17 or fewer syllables, nature and the seasons, no mortals portrayed therein. There should be a shift of thought or scene in perhaps the last line.

Guest judge for Winklings: haikumonk.

Go forth, fine Winklings and friends, and create beautiful haiku.

  • Final notes:
    On behalf of haikumonk and the contestholder, Melodies, I ~ Lyndon ~ would like to report that we found much vivid poetry in the work offered in this contest. The three of us agree that the HAIKU, "gentle breeze" is the best one we have seen in many a long moon. GOLD without doubt.

    SILVER to the HAIKU "in the shadow".

    BRONZE to the HAIKU "winter portrait".

    These three ku were outstanding examples of what the form should be.

    Finally, I thank Melodies for holding the contest, for Winklers like Paulette for critiquing without my asking (
    and guest judge, haikumonk, for his significant input.
    CONGRATULATIONS all. Jolly good show!
