This is my very first contest and I'm so excited!! Basically what I want is for you to pick an item in nature and go nuts! (examples: rain, clouds, storms, lightning, a seed, a flower, snow, etc....the sky's the limit!)
Some rules:
1) Spell Check is your friend...failing to use it will just upset me. Please spell correctly.
2) You can use rhyme or free verse...however, I prefer rhyme so if you use free verse, it better be REALLY good!!
3) Don't make it too long...I get bored. If it's long, it better be enthralling. :)
4) No Prewrites--I want to see what you can do on the fly.
As you can see, this will be fairly simple. What I really want is to see 20 really exquisite poems about nature and the beauty of the earth around us. Be creative and have fun!!

a rain droplet
is sitting on a window pane
listening to an angel
with a heart of wings
and a slow burning desire
to fly away.
he knows he has to keep going
just like the rest.
falling to his place
in the ground.
as he melts without a sound
sifting with the tide,
he comforts himself in knowing
the angel is on his side.
