a prose is a form of writing... explaining your heart out in story like form with metaphors and not much punctuation. it has no stanza form or rhyme unless you want it to be and it's more of just pouring your heart out rather than thinking of what line to write next. if you want an example, just go to categories on ap and find prose =]
