I Need Help....Please read

I am looking for NOT poetry but WRITES to send to the state of Florida to petition the judge or Testamonials from those who have been in this situation to send my 20yr old son to a mental health/rehab center...

I am not trying to get him off of anything, but they sent him to one for a month when the place decided to release him on medical for they do not do mental health only rehab...

They would not let him move to where I am to help him and they left him out there alone...

He violated due to depression from not finding a job and drinking...

They now want to put him in prison for 5 yrs, which I feel will only make the problem worse...as does his doctor....anyone who knows him will tell you he is a very sweet and kind hearted soul in trouble.

I know many would not agree with me trying to help for he is 20 but mentally he is only 15 to 16...the state promised us help for 5 yrs. finally they put him in a program that was not designed for his problems.

I just wish to get him in a 2 yr program for mental health and drug abuse...

Please only write if you wish to help...many of you here know me and some my son. I can not afford an other attorney this time for $12,000.00...I have already mortaged my house for the first round and the state screwed up...

I will award everyone who enters as much as I can...

I would like to thank Malabu, ChreylAnn, Tam and going nowhere for points they have donated in the past which will help with this one... Thanks to Fire and Ice, Vacant and Magick-Maliha, daviscth, RedwingSpirit bleeding eternal, poet2angel, Talloaks, Echidna, xBlackRainbowCharx and James Dean for donations...I can not thank you enough...Love and Blessings to you all!

Note: Thank you all for all the support and points...I am so touched and honored by so much caring and love... Bless you all!

Please put your real name and state you live in in authors box...also be aware I plan on printing all entries and sending them to the judge in Florida...

Thank you from my heart...

Bless you all!

Kim

for Christopher Fernandez

P.S. I will give HM to all but the points will be higher...thanks to so many donating pt's all who enter will get extra pt's beside HM... Love

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on February 15, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 2000, Silver: 1000, Bronze: 700, Honorable mention: 18 people
  • Final notes:
First I would like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart fo your love and support...All in the finals are being sent to the state...my mother and the church will present them along with all from family and friends at home...2nd, I can not being to tell you how much I appreciate it and the support...I am deeply moved by all...
I wish I could give gold to them all...all HM will be sent more points asap...
3rd one person left a message here about me making excuses for him, as I stated in this contest from the start he is not innocent, but he needs help and I and my mother tried for years to get it...met with many empty promises from the State...he has never hurt anyone other than himself...two felony charges are for setting of fire extinguisher that cost $15.00...he could not remember it and when the police picked him up the had him mandated for his safety for 48 hours...big help that was...I just want help for him...Now that I have rambled enough thank you all!

    Love and Blessings to all!

Oh and this was the remaker from a person I have blocked...shows her maturity. "if you have nothing good to say, say nothing...go on by, but do not attack my child without knowing him...or really trying to understand." Thanks to the rest of you with love.
    Kim
"Edit | Reply I totally agree with what you said that she was making excuses and such. I looked at the contest and just moved right along because I had nothing good to say. But you are obviously very kind and know what you're talking about."

I'm afraid your giving his Judge poetry, will only add to his pigeon holed placing in what might appear too off the wall. I implore you to only ask for serious similar circumstanced events from others. You do what you see as fit of course. However, this is a serious matter and not one with much room for poetic material being submitted.Hope this is equatable in it's message.

I think serious material with an appeal to the judges humanity would better serve your intentions in this case...Im not so sure poetry will do this for you...I would at least consult a lawyer or contact the bar association in your area...they will at least help you...or direct you as to constitutional rights...God bless

I would have to agree with the consensus here that letters from people who have been in the situation is the way to go here Kim and I am one of those parents. My son is now 28 and been out of prison for the 3rd time for almost 2 years now and doing all he can to stay out but there are many similar circumstances in our stories because my sons trouble started in his teenage years stemming from things that happen to him when he was a child that I had no knowledge of but, well, we need to talk so please message me when you come back on I'm here as a friend maybe even message me a phone number. If you'd like, I could call you.

The key words there ladies, were "NOT poetry"

You realize she's only asking for help, right? We can all read here, right?

    Damn,

This really sucks my sweet friend, and you know, anything you think us as friends can do to help you, we should just do it. Advice is great, but it sounds as though you've had much of that already.. as well as given the wrong kind of so called help from the state all the way down. I send my love, and I shall see what I can do for you. Many have to actually know about depression to be able to have the kind of compassion you're looking for. And sadly, I do. I love ya, and hope for brighter days.

Peace I only wish for you.
    -Your friend, Timothy aka poeticweaver

I think these should be letters, not poetry.

Might your appeal be that the entrants write letters on the fact that prison is not the answer for your son but an institution that can help him with his addiction and mental disabilities. I know that this is very hard for you dear one.

I will do what I can but I personally prefer to write a letter, and email it to you if that is at all possible.

    I am however sending points.

I know you must feel desperate but please know that you are not along. I am going to do some research and see what I can do to be of some assistance to you.

    Hold on!

    Much Love ♥

Being that I haven't been in a similar situation, I don't feel my opinion would be heard as needed. However, I would much like to donate points to your cause. You and your son are in my thoughts.

I know that when my brother put us through his torment.. I would have given anything to have anyone.. someone.. to be there.. Right now Kim you might not feel very blessed.. But I hope one day after the hurt has faded you will be able to see the love people have for you.. How they reach through to you from the darkness..

I didn't until it was to late for me..

Thank you sweet lady for the HM.. I wish you strength on your journey..

What a wonderful mother and beautiful human being you are for caring so much for your son. Your plea brought tears to my eyes, so many people fall through the cracks, such a shame. So many do not care, an even bigger shame. Perhaps if more people in this world , had a caring heart ,there would be far less people who get so far down that they find it almost impossible to get back up. I speak from experience , I myself have a drug problem, and though I blame no one but myself for it, perhaps things could have worked out better for me, if I had had a loving and caring mother such as you. I commend you and you have my deepest respect, not only as a mother but as a human being. ~Bret~
P.S. How are things going with Christopher ?
