Life begins at 40 - so they say!
I'd like to know if this is true!
As I will be turning 40 this year I thought I'd run a contest about being that age.
I want to know what you think about being 40.
Does it fill you with horror?
Do you embrace it?
Do you think nothing of it at all?
Those of you who are not yet there - make it up!
The Rules
Minimum swearing no more than 3 words and label correctly.
No sticky caps or other weird writing.
No bashing other poets.
No less than eight lines.
Any less than 3 poems and contest will be deleted.
1 entry per poet.
I may allow pre-writes later but I prefer fresh writes.
I love rhyme, and also some free-verse.
No Haiku, DP, cutting, suicide, or death.
Acrostics welcome! Use the title 'Forty Today' or if you can think of a better one then feel free.
Please add pictures if you wish and remember to dedicate the artist.
Make your work readable and think about your background carefully, I really dislike the red on black and vice versa theme.
I reserve the right to delete any entry I think does not fit with the description for this contest.
All decisions are final.
