I am looking for a poem that desribes your feelings ABOUT Old Poetry.
That can be taken as about Old Poetry in general or the OLDPOETRY website itself [www.oldpoetry.com]
The length and style is completly upto you. Haiku, Vilanelle, Limerick, Free Verse, Blank Verse -- you choose.
I will read all the entries and judge fairly according to what I personally think is best although as you might guess from my name I have a preference for rhyme and rhythm!
*BUT* I firmly believe a good poem in any style is better than a bad poem in a known style !
There will be
300 Points and a trophy for Gold
150 Points and a trophy for Silver
75 Points and a trophy for Bronze
and upto 5 HMs
Please entertain and amuse me
NB.
I DON'T JUST WANT ONE OF YOUR OLD POEMS UNLESS IT IS ABOUT OLD POETRY!

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on February 7
- Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 150, Bronze: 75, Honorable mention: 5 people
- Final notes: I know it is a trite phrase but there really were some outstanding poems here and finding a winning order was not easy. In the end I judged on their relevance, style and general appeal to me.
The winner just had to be "Days of Yore" with its references not only to the idea of old poetry but to so many old poets and poems. I challenge readers to find them all. I'm not even sure I found them all myself!
Second and third were close and "Oldpoetry inspires" just pipped "Pageboy" because of it message and multiple references over the humour of the latter and its single main reference.
The others were nipping at the heels of the trophy winners and their writers are to be complimented on their efforts.
Thanks to all the finalists for a very enjoyable experience.
Jim
