As I Looked Back And Found Myself Looking Down

Went to sleep last night as usual

Yet I woke finding myself old that was odd

I ran into my old bedroom

And their was my mom sleeping rolled into a ball

I stood there for a bit then knew what I had to do

I woke her up and told her get ready for school

On my way out I saw their on her desk

A bottle of pills I prayed she hadnt taken any yet

I rushed to the bedside and couldnt wake her up

So I called the ambulance to come and hoped they would rush

Holding her there within my arms tears began to fall

For I reallized this was me after all

    Thanks

Thanks for the contest, surprised more people didn't enter; I would have thought many more people would have had a perspective on this.
Either way, thanks for the contest, it gave me something to think about, and an interesting perspective when writing.

    great

i was about to take the biggest test of my life
all the studying was causing lots of strife
and suddenly i was my father, how can this be?
    but, like dad, my hero,
we do not question our destiny or His will for us
so I decided to stand tall and not make a fuss

i glanced over at him, studying like a pro
walked on over diligently and said
"on taking a test, there are some tips to you i can show"
it was a wonderful evening being a dad to him
    we worked together
    we laughed together
we learned from each other together
    we smiled together
    we worked together some more

it was a wonderful evening being a dad to him
i got to be the father he is to me
he got to be the son he taught me to be
