Hello Talented Poets!
I recently won a PIF in Idle Mind Wondering's Carpe Diem contest so it is my turn to pay it forward.
A kodama is a spirit from Japanese folklore, which is believed to live in certain trees
(similar to the Hamadryad of Greek myth). Cutting down a tree which houses a kodama is
thought to bring misfortune, and such trees are often marked with shimenawa rope.
The word can also refer to an echo.
Give me 45 spectacular words using the images and description of kodama as your prompt.
Rhyme or not, it is your choice.
I will judge the evening of January 17th or after 10 poets have completed their pieces.
Reserve if you like, but please write your poem quickly.
Gold will kindly pay it forward with a similar contest.
THE RULES:
1. 45 words, no less no more.
2. No sticky caps
3. No cutting, suicide, self mutilation, etc. etc.
4. Proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation will matter - a lot!
5. Please left align unless your poem calls for a different format.
6. Have fun and step out of the box for something really splendid.
GO!
