Hello and welcome to my prompt rounds contest. As the title may suggest, this is going to be a rounds contest with prompts for each round.
The rounds will go like this (may have to be edited due to number of entrants, but we'll see):
Preliminary Round (this one) - 20 spaces
Round 1 - 20 spaces
Round 2 - 16 spaces
Round 3 - 10 spaces
Round 4 - 5 spaces
Round 5 - 3 spaces (the ultimate winner will be found here).
As I have stated above, this may change with the number of entrants I recieve.
In this contest (prelim. round), what I would like you to do is to enter your best prompt poem. If you never have entered a prompt contest, or would prefer, enter your favourite write under 30 lines.
I will get in more detail on structure/points in the next round.
Each round will amount to more points (100 more added each time, probably. i.e. first round will be 300 points, 2nd 400 etc). The last rounds amount will be a surprise. I want you all to work hard on these.
~Basic Rules~ (these will be throughout the rounds, unless stated otherwise)
No bashing each others writing skills/abilities/styles - we all write in different ways, we all should stand a chance of winning.
Don't bash me either. If/when you are kicked out of the competition, it doesn't mean I didn't like your entry or that I have a personal problem with you, this is a competition and with competitions you need those who don't win too. Please don't scream at me for not chosing you, it's not the way you gain fans. If you have a genuine problem however, please message me and I will gladly listen to you.
If you are going to enter writes of an erotic/dark/adult nature, please label correctly.
Try and limit swearing. If you only have one swearword and it seems to serve a purpose, I will not complain, however do use such words sparingly and label your write adult/erotic, whichever is appropriate (or both).
1 Entry per person please.
Prewrites are allowed in THIS contest, but not in any of the others following.
Spelling and grammar do count, along with using the English language properly. I don't want you adding in big words because they sound good and not actually knowing what they mean, that's not poetry at all.
Only enter the contest if you are willing to go all the way along the rounds. I know life can throw unexpected things at us and if you have a genuine reason as to why you are unable to enter the contest and therefore have to drop out, please do message me/get a friend to message me (ie. you're in hospital, a family member is ill/has passed away, an unexpected computer loss).
If you are going to change your name throughout the contest please message me with your new name, I don't want to disqualify you in later rounds thinking you were not in the contest. Please remember to do this.
Okay, I think those are the basic rules. If I have missed anything I will certainly add it in the second round of this contest.
Good luck everyone!
PLEASE ONLY ENTER THE CONTEST IF YOU ARE WILLING TO PARTICIPATE IN UPCOMING CONTESTS.

- Final notes:
Hello everyone, you are all part of the prompt rounds contest now (lucky you). I hope you can find some inspiration within the prompt[s] I give you in the upcoming rounds. I do wish you all luck.
I will leave a link to the new contest here and send it through to you all. This will be within half an hour of this contest closing, I do hope this is okay with everyone.
I will give you all a week to complete this.
I must say everyone (I mean it) actually had really inspiring entries. I was expecting a mixed bucket (no offense to anyones writing or anything) but I found you all have such talent, so if you keep it up you are going to make judging a very difficult job indeed!
Well done to everyone. Points of course will be given to Silver, Bronze and two HMs in the upcoming contests, so don't worry, it's only this one you may be lacking
Good luck everyone & thanks for joining!
