Killing yourself slowly...... Prompt inspired.

1. Have you ever, or have you known someone personally that has needed to lose weight because of health issues?

2. If you haven’t you can still enter, just pretend you are in this situation.

In both options I am looking for honest advice, I know there are a lot of folks around that might benifit from it and maybe you could help to start a change in yours or someone else’s life.

Any style, poem or story. Any length. Be sure to label accordingly if adult content.

Please put which option you picked. Thank you.

    I won't poem...but I'll add advice here:

    1. Lots of water, drink LOTS of water. If they are hungry and feel like snacking, fill up a 20 ounce bottle and drink away until it is meal time, or safe time to snack.

    2. Get the snacks that are bad out of the house, don't expect will power to work, it rarely does.

    3. YOGA .. it's really a great exercise to get into, and you can do it as basic or as advanced as you are comfortable with. Spend 30 minutes to an hour a day doing this, (best in the morning). Not only does it help you to tone up and lose extra pounds (what you gain back is muscle,) but you will have so much more energy during the day, and at least for me it seems to boost my metabolism.

    4. Small snacks (healthy ones) throughout the day are the best way to go, as well. If you don't allow yourself to eat when hungry, when you finally DO eat, it is in such a way that calories are not easily burned...

That's all I got, and that's personal experience speaking

This is some wonderful advice and I thank you for sharing.
I got the ideal that a lot of people (Myself included) could benifit from some good advive.
Even for those that don't need to lose weight this is still good advise to keep from gaining in the future.
      Love, Cathy

could I speak of my own situation?

I have three reasons I have to lose weight.
    1. to be in track
    2. i'm doin' it for my fiancee
    3. for health

Can I write? like, about how much pain it entails, physically and mentally, and how I'm overcoming it?

    ~VoT

(My fiancee will kill me if he reads this )

I can't even tell how much I can relate to this contest. Not me but someone who is very dear to me is so unhealthy and weight it one of the biggest issues about her decreasing health. I will do my best to enter something for you.

having dealt with anorexia most of my life....well. I personally think it's a direct result of my disgust for my mother, who is morbidly obese.
but I'd join a gym and like....GET AWESOME MUSCLES lol.
onea the bestist swimmers on my team @ high school, she does breaststroke at like state level. SHE LOOKS AND WORKS LIKE A FRICKING SNOWPLOW
if you've got muscle, fat aint so bad.
though.......most females don't like having big muscles as much as i do. lol....

Like Suzanne Dia I won't poem but I'll add some advice ..
Most importantly of all, do not resort to fad diets, they work of course, but the benefits are temporary. The weight lost almost always comes back, or one gains more.

The body metabolism, instead of adapting tends to think it's being starved and will actually attempt to retain every calorie it gets.

From personal experience. I've found the most effective way is to pay close attention to the caloric content of what you eat, and to count them, with a daily limit.

It won't come off as fast as a fad diet, but it will come off, and by the time the weight is lost, you may have even come to like eating less.
