Look carefully at the picture prompt. Let your eyes rest on the surface, then look beyond it, focusing behind the image. Let the lines move.
Then write me a poem about what you see, feel.
Any form, any length, rhyming or not, it's up to you.
So far in this contest, we have arrived at : As the sun rises, life quickens. The green fuse curls, unfurls, climbs high for the sky, to flower....
Cut to this round. Good luck, it's on for a short time because I'm running out of time.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on January 11, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 150, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 7 people
- Final notes: This has been the most inspiring round - thank you all for the time and effort you put into looking, thinking and writing. This was so hard to judge, because you all came up with such great responses.
The words that accompany this picture are ... and die... and the colour red to me means death, and death means war. The name of the picture is "Hiroshima" and it comes from the memory of an unknown woman in WW2 who was incinerated during the bombing of Hiroshima. The silhouette of her body was blasted into the marble wall of the bank she was standing next to when the bomb exploded. That explosion ended WW2, and somehow her death gave way to life, and the circle goes on.
I apologise if this explanation seems harsh, but death is a part of life, and we ignore it at our peril.
So, final round to come, Round 6, posting today. Please come back and play again.
