No mean feat this. It represents work if it is your first time to do one.
I did my New Year's presentation on Movie Maker. My pen friend tomisb has done one for YouTube as well. You might ask him how it was done and ask to see it. I do not know of others who have done one preciously.
For this contest, I would like sound or video poetry. That means, if you have a way of presenting up to a five minute presentation; either images of a piece of your poetry; speaking, or msuical presentation including all, then you are right on for this contest.
It took me one whole morning to do mine because I had to learn all the programs. You can see mine as New Year's wish on my home page.
If I find the presentations are worthy of more points because they absolutely blow me away, I will, of course, add more points.
They must be up on YouTube and link only put on the page. In the author's comment area, put how you did it, a little bit about what you went through to do it. They must be your own poetry. Be sure to give proper credits for sound, etc.
I am hoping this catches on and we begin to put our poetry out in various mediums. I will offer some other contests for other mediums as time goes on.
Points for this cotnest were given to me by several friends and I am using some of them for this initial contest and the rest for further ones. Thank you. You know who you are and you can add a comment, if you wish, to support that I have used some of your points for such a contest.

- Final notes: You are all simply incredible poets... I was taken away with the gold...it was compelte imersion into the reading... it invites you in. The silver sends out light an gentle spirit and I as touched beyond imagining by the poet's gentle bird spirit.
All four are magnificient works of art.... what aglorious way for far-off friends to share their souls.

I got a digital video camera just to do this. Many on this site have asked to hear me read my poetry, Others wanted to see what I looked like in something besides an eleven year old photo. I just thought it would be fun to do. I use Mac software and Quicktime to prep the video and then it is a straight up link to Youtube. That part is simple. I tried to do an video up load to AP and couldn't get it to work. oh well.
I think poetry is an oral art and reading and presentation are important. I have read reactions to the video idea and know not all agree. But if you are ever in DC metro area, I will happily take you out to an open mic reading any time I can. -

there is a hot one in fredrick Md, word works is in Bethesda and there is some great readings in that area, I read at IOTA in Arlington VA the second Sunday of every month and at the Borders at Pentagon City the third Wednesday of every month. Get the City Paper to see the scene in the DC Metro area. I it far far far from dryed up.

I love doing presentations though, it's fun. We had to do one for Media last year. I think I did mine on YouTube, come to think of it!

I am happy that my little bird garuda has conquered your heart ... her appearance was not at all planned, she just showed up almost each time as soon as I switched on the camera ... and I guess the times she didn't appear "on stage", she might not have liked the poems
