contest for my favorites

like seinfeld
write about nothing or anything

and do it beautifully
or at least ugly

and at the end of it all- i want to feel it

no rules although i should say that despite the contest title i'm not particularly looking for humor-

although done well it would be fine...

this contest is for my favorites
(if you think you should be on my favorites and i have somehow been idiot enough not to put you there.. please contact me)

i'm judging this one alone
and i will not leave critical comments-  unless they are asked for specifically in your author notes

i will however comment on every entry-

the reason: i just so appreciate you all
and you are on my favorite's list because of i respect your work

you have two full weeks

feel free to tweak and tweak...

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on January 12, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 800, Silver: 400, Bronze: 200, Honorable mention: 1 people
  • Final notes:
I imagined this difficult - i never imagined this this difficult-

There is a reason you are all on my favorites. There could be an argument made for placement of every poem in this contest.

Some really fabulous writing to start the new year- thank you so much for entering and leaving such beauty in your wake.

ultimately it came down to a gut reaction

    1. long road home - please read this piece
    it is pretty phenomonal

    2. rebeka- when every word is perfectly placed and chosen you are probably reading a rebeka poem

    3. nurse chilly - subtlety along with a strong sense of wit and wordmanship

    4. misselaineous- i absolutely love the quirky storytelling of this piece and how it all blends together is delightful

Thank you so much to everyone for joining me.

    Mary

Thank you for hosting, Mary. It is an honor to be among such wonderful talent, many of whom are dear Friends. "The Soup Nazi" was one of my favorite episodes. I dunno; I was obviously in a strange mood when I wrote my piece. I was hopin' to give ya a giggle, at any rate. By the way, my grandpa was nothing like Costanza. Congratulations, one & all. Be well, Poets & Scribes. Wanda
