Hey hey & welcome to my 5th AP contest! ^^
Hmmm... personally, I find self analysis to be a crucial part of growth, change and achievement. Analyzing others in relationship to me has also been beneficial in better understanding, relating to, as well as caring for them. Learning more about these specific individuals in my circle of friends, work or family via analysis has also, interestingly enough, provided me with insights on certain "humanly universal" tendencies.
By no means am I saying I’m ever right about the conclusions or scenarios I come to, nor am I saying people ought to appreciate my attempts even. In fact, especially when it comes to family, they'll often start thinking I’m trying to impose authority over them to try to change something about them… when really I’m just elaborating out my own thoughts and would like their opinions as to why they do what they do (whether they are aware of it or not). But they just don't see the point. I know I think too much sometimes and end up going in circles and getting no where. Lol... so as not to continue on in circles...
For this contest,
I'd like you to enter pieces that reflect why you are the way you are or do what you often do. The clearer the causal relationships (A because B thus resulting in C when D or A in order for B if C), the better! Though, it need not be so straight forward or literal. The write can be abstract, metaphorical, in a story format, rhyming (or not)... whatever, you decide, as long as you show me you've answered the question. For example, a lost love kind of story can reflect how you are feeling at the moment... and lead to actions later on.
You may choose to analyze yourself specifically under certain situations or following experiences (good or bad) as well as other people you think you know well!
You can also enter a couple of pieces (max. 3) if it helps to clarify you (him/her)... though I'll only award the latest one - make note of this in the "author notes" if that's the case.
Quick rules:
Spell check = friend!
Keep under 50 (written) lines
Do “overanalyze” this prompt
& dare go beyond the obvious!!
GL & enjoy... <3 Alex
P.S. Up for a challenge? Have a go at cracking me! Hint: check my writes for this one... thank u
