Best of 2007

Well, the year of 2008 is nearing around the corner so what better way to celebrate the year by hosting a contest of this magnitude?!

What will happen is that I want writes (whether fresh or old) that was written in the year of 2007 but read carefully because just in case you’re looking for a bit of inspiration, options will be provided just in case.  Remember that you necessarily do not have to use the options if you want to enter a fresh write.

• Poetic devices are your friends!
• Any and all entries should NOT exceed fifty (50) lines

• If using the options, list option and sub-option in notes [Option A-5]
• Don’t expect right away commentary. Be patient
• Expect honest critiques and occasional updates
• Absolutely no clichés!
• Most importantly….HAVE FUN

GOOD LUCK

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on December 30, 2007
  • Rewards: Gold: 500, Silver: 400, Bronze: 100
  • Final notes:
Oh wow! I have to admit that there were a few--if not several strong entries here. But having to organize, then reorganize, but here I go again with having to re-reorganize for a third and fourth time, all of you brought your 'A-game'. Judging this was difficult but I think everyone of you is a winner in your own right; and granted that my commenting was off and on in the duration of this contest, I did what need to be done nor did I show favoritism in any manner.

Congradulations to everyone who entered and remember to always keep penning.

Hey can I enter a poem for another person? A friend of mine wrote an unbelievable poem inspired by Jack Keruac, Lorca and the language and experience of Poetry called the White Stallion .. I'd love to surprise him with entering it here ..???

It is out for publication in several reputable journals so I'd have to get it in fast and if he gets notified of acceptance, we'd have to withdraw it but .. well, let me know and good luck to everyone who enters..

IM me if you think that would be okay. Thanks.

    Lisa
