Here's your chance to have fun speaking in rhyme to somebody you'd LIKE to drive crazy, anyway!
Write a poem that starts with something a telephone salesperson might say. This is a sample, but you write your own dialog:
Hello, Mrs. Smith. How are you, today? I'm calling from Global Express and we have a free vacation for you. Does that sound good? You can take this vacation any time this year. When would you like to take this trip?
NOW... TA DA!! This is the place where YOU talk in rhyme with something like this:
I cannot travel here or there.
I cannot travel anywhere.
I will not take your awful trip.
I will not sail in your old ship.
I will not fly in your old plane.
I will not travel in your train.
I will not travel any place.
I like to stay here in my home
I cannot talk now on the phone.

See? You write the salesperson's dialogue and THEN
you write what you might say back in rhyme.
AND, may I also add that I am going to do this the next time a telephone solicitor calls me. I can hardly wait.

haha this contest sounds like a good one! great idea! I'd like to enter but being from NZ we don't really get many telemarketers, just jehovas witness's knocking on your door is bout the only thing I've come across, I'll be interested into seeing te poems tho, should be a stich!
