But do they know its christmas time?

Christmas is a wonderful time that we spend with our familys. eating our christmas turkey and unwrapping presents. its usually a happy occasion.

But whilst we are sitting around the christmas tree with chocolates and alcohol...there are people out in the world who arn't getting these luxuarys. a song was brought out to make people aware of this fact and this is going to be your prompt for this competition.

i want poems inspired by this song and the words and facts said within it. it is a beautiful heartfelt song and is one of my favourite christmas songs.

    I actually find that song irritating.

    Most of the people in the world don't know or care that it is Christmas because they aren't Christians.

      it dosnt matter if your christian or not i have jewish and muslim friends who still celebrate christmas. it still makes a point which can be pinned to everyday of the year. there are people out in the world who dont have food or water.

      Most people have more to believe in, most people are not so selfish. It doesn't matter that you find the song irritating. No one asked your opinion.

    Yes... we all know about that song...

    But did you know that when the author/performer of it turned up to dispense aid in Abyssinia - instead of the high-powered welcome he expected, he found everyone there was busy celebrating what on the local Church calendar was - Christmas Day.

    There were a great many - if rather obvious - jokes about "Doesn't HE know its Christmas?"

    Thank you for the gold. I'm sorry more people didn't turn out for this contest and that so many people protested it's existence. It's their own fault for being closed-minded.
