We've all lived thru 7 disgusting years of right wing supremacy (or is that white power supremacy?), and it has nearly destroyed us. It seems that an American writer of great perspicacity predicted all this years ago:
"When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross". (Sinclair Lewis)
It's interesting that Ron Paul used this very quote to describe his opinion of Huckabee's latest ads. Not that I support Ron Paul, but I found it very intriguing.
Write me a poem about the state of the U.S. and /or the state of the world because of the betrayal of America and of the world by the radical right wing nutcakes who are making America the outcast of the world.
Please watch your grammar, spelling and punctuation as I hate to have to edit your poems for you.
Rightwing scum need not bother commenting. If the truth bothers you it's only because you're a displaced person. You belong in Nazi Germany in the 1930's. Get lost. No Republicans unless they support Ron Paul.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on January 3, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 400, Silver: 200, Bronze: 50, Honorable mention: 7 people
- Final notes: I was thrilled to get some really good entries in this contest since often people are afraid to put their names out there in a contest dealing with reality and truth, subjects which are so distorted and eclipsed in America today that most people have forgotten what they are.
I was happy to see so many people turn out for the caucuses today, even though my candidate only came in second. I hope it's a harbinger of things to come. Perhaps we can yet take back our country from the greedy, rapacious rapscallions who have been perverting our constitution and destroying the bill of rights to the point where liberty is only a word with no meaning now.
Thanks to those who entered and congratulations to all of you for fine poems on a difficult subject.

Tis A Shame
That a nation once loved and respected has wandered far away from God - in the name of God - to become what it is today - but I believe their is still hope for her - even though she is a divided nation like never before - a nation that visits evil on another people without just cause will have evil visited on her - has fascism reared it's ugly head in America? It could very well be but I do know that the current administration has sinned with it's military machine against the people of Iraq - "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people" - Bless God - Joe -
-
Yes ...
It's a shame when people pervert and twist religions to advance their own evil ends; but it's even more of a shame when a great people become blinded by their own stupidity and continue to support monsters. Germany did it in the 30's and we're doing it now. What a sad thing to think how far we've fallen over these last 7 years. -
-
So Sad
Reading your reply brought a tears to my eyes - I find it hard to think about it - it puzzles me to think that the monsters want to spread their evil "righteousness" on the rest of world out of the barrel of a gun - but - there is hope - "If my people who are called by my name, humble themselves and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear their prayers and heal their land" - so sorrt for your nation - Bless God - Joe -
-
It's amazing how often ...
in human history that people have used religion to mask their evil doings. What's even worse is when people who should know better are taken in by it and support them in their nefarious machinations. -
-
So True
They will burn in Hell except they repent - they use God's name in vain - and the ones that should know better are just a bunch of lemmings - what really bothers me is the so called men of God supporting the evil doers as well - the attack on Iraq was evil and the ones that did it are evil and anyone that supported it are evil - many have seen the error of their ways - there are a few that didn't support it from the start that are now seeking the presidency - keep them in mind - Bless God - Joe

Oh?
What was 9-11 and so many other attacks to us?
Many happened before the "right wing scum" came to power.... -
-
What do I think?
I think that anybody who supports Bush at this stage of the game is either psychotic, a traitor, or mentally challenged.
I know that you know that the people who carried out 9/11 were Saudis (Bush's buddies), not Iraqis, and that we have murdered or displaced millions to build up Bush's ego, and alienated most of the rest of the world in the process, basically for nothing. The U.S. will be finished, kaput, done for, if this gang manages to steal even one more election.
You have no place here. Get lost. -
-
May you live in interesting times. I forget who said that but it's certainly true of humanity in the 21st century.

I'll be back!

I'm meek!
and I'll be back for my inheritance!

I will apply myself. -
I love you. Lol. Also, one of the greatest quotes ever, along with "Those who would trade essential liberty for a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." ~ Ben Franklin. I shall be entering this contest.

Per your statement on Ron Paul. He appears to be from all I've listen to. To be one of three plausable choices with ideas and intellect to restore some sort of order from this mess we are in. The other two actual ones showing any genuine smarts /uncorrupt. Is Mike Gravel and or Kurcinich.Mispelled I'm sure. I and many I've spoken with see it the same way. It's sad,but true.

-
Sorry to disagree ...
but Ron Paul is nuts. Totally, completely off his rocker.

I am going to have to think about this one. Excellent topic though.
-
I would like to contribute to this but my views are bitter toward our president and our government and it would come up like a bad case of indigestion.
I saw a quote recently that reflects my opinions perfectly. It went something like this,"If we continue to take an eye for an eye, soon we will all be blind" -
I looked at this contest several times but could not bring myself to write anything about it. As soon as I start to think about it, I realize I can spend hours writing about it....
Looks like you have some good entries...
-
Thank you so much for the silver! Once again, truly an honor.
-
I wanted to participate xD I was just going to reinterpret some song I was listening to that talks about stuff like this. Maybe you want to listen to it.
"Lie Buried with a Vengeance" by Dir en grey.
